--Lex (talk) 02:49, 15 November 2017 (CET) Thanks Megs! I've added a bunch of info on the main page. Basically created a generic siege mechanics template that is shared by both Asedios de nodos and Asedios a castillos

Prime time siege windows

Guilds participate in Castle sieges in an effort to capture and occupy one of the five guild castles in Ashes of Creation.[3]

Sieges occur once a month.[3]

[NEW BULLET POINT RECOMMENDED] Castle and Node sieges can only occur during that server's primetime window of 3PM to 7PM

[also further down the page under Siege Mechanics add in this same bullet point]

A siege occurs over several phases.[33]

[NEW BULLET POINT RECOMMENDED] Castle and Node sieges can only occur during that server's primetime window of 3PM to 7PM

If you want to declare a siege against a node you’ll complete that quest to get the siege scroll when you get that siege scroll the applicable time that you can declare the siege will be between 3pm and 7pm eastern time if you’re an Eastern server. – Steven Sharif

That reference only supports siege times relating to Node sieges. It is cited here. When we get a quote that specifically includes a prime time window for Castle sieges we will definitely add that to the text. --Lex (talk) 18:01, 12 August 2020 (EDT)

Steven says Castle specifically in this Asmon interview, here is a better time marker than I gave prior, (13:13) www.youtube.com/watch?v=H0LQSMT83L0&feature=youtu.be&t=13m13s

Asmon: "So that experience is what caused you to have sieges be at dedicates times during the day?"

Steven: "...it kind of sucks if somebody can sneak in a castle (13:32) siege at 2AM and you're not up." --Stephen (talk) 5:10, 13 August 2020 (CDT)

Thanks for tracking that down. I've made those changes. --Lex (talk) 11:46, 13 August 2020 (EDT)
Just FYI, I found a more sweeping quote about this in the TimTheTatman interview.[1] I've modified objective-based articles accordingly. --Lex (talk) 17:35, 14 August 2020 (EDT)

(Suggested bullet point edit) Steven has provided in two interviews some details about how Castle Nodes are leveled up that I think worth noting to flesh out the system. Castle nodes live on a monthly cycle, every month, regardless if there was a successful siege against the castle, the castle nodes revert back to tier 0. At the start of every month, (Week 1) Node A will begin to attempt to advance to as high as tier 3. The guild has only that one week to do enough questing to advanced that node to tier 3, if they provide less then that the node will only reach tier 1 or 2. At the end of the week the node is locked at that tier and cannot level further. At the start of week 2 Node B now begins its chance to level up. Week 3 is Node C's time. At the end of the month, regardless if a siege is declared or not, all three Castle Nodes destruct back to tier 0 to restart the process. It appears the mechanic here is to penalize a long existing guild that has gone months without being sieged and so they don't bother putting in the monthly effort to build up all three nodes again. An enemy may notice one month that they only leveled all three nodes to tier 1 and know their castle will have the weakest defense ever and strike at that time. Also throughout the month enemies may assault these nodes to slow their buildup. This part is vague, if this hurting of a node's progression will be through just attacking caravans and killing locals to prevent them from completing quests, or if throughout the month these nodes are destructible buildings that an enemy can at any time set a potion bomb off inside and cause experience debt upon explosion.

(23:02) "...each of the dedicated castle nodes is barren at the start of the start of the castle ownership period... that first week Node A which is a dedicated castle node will be unbuilt and you will have 1 week to build it"-Steven Sharif (24:11)"so they won't be static and present there, once that [period ends] that process will happen [again]"-Steven Sharif --Stephen (talk) 6:21, 22 August 2020 (CDT)

This information is already present on Asedios a castillos and Nodos de castillo. --Lex (talk) 15:10, 22 August 2020 (EDT)
