Is it a restless spirit that stalks the fields of battle, some sort of ghostly apparition, a harbinger of doom, or is it simply a natural aberration and a rare prize for some big game hunter fortunate enough to stumble into its path? Few agree on its nature or origin, but it is said that in ages past, the first Aelan King tracked it across the breadth of the Riverlands, only to lose the awe-inspiring creature in the tangled wilds of the Jundark. The king was so moved by the encounter that it inspired him to adopt its likeness as the official sigil of the Kaelar nation. To this day it appears on the national flag, on the seal of all official correspondence, and as the predominant focus of the royal crest.[1]
